It is with immense pleasure that we invite you to join Asia’s first Amartya Sen Lecture Series, a global initiative to celebrate the Nobel Laureate’s wide ranging contributions to sustainable development. As one of the world’s foremost development economists, Amartya Sen’s works, including Development as Freedom and The Idea of Justice, have inspired a generation of development economists and practitioners.
We are privileged that this prestigious Lecture Series will be held in Asia for the first time since its inception. The eminent guest speaker for this year’s Lecture will be Mr. Haruhiko Kuroda, Governor of the Bank of Japan and former President of the Asian Development Bank, who will deliver a presentation on “How to Sustain Economic Growth in Asia?”. Professor Sen will join Mr. Kuroda in a post-lecture discussion.
